Once you make the fundamental choice to be the predominant creative force in your life, any approach you choose to take for your own growth and development can work, and you are especially attracted to those approaches which will work particularly well for you. Better get a stiff neck from aiming too high than a hunch from aiming too low.

The way to be safe is never to be secure. All that is necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing. Nothing determines who we will become so much as those things we choose to ignore. Until you try, you do not know what you cannot do. You cannot pick cherries with your back to the tree. If you are never scared or embarrassed or hurt, it means you never take chances.

If you have a lemon, make lemonade. Why not go out on a limb? That is where the fruit is Success or failure depends more upon attitude than upon capacity. Successful people act as though they have accomplished or are enjoying something. Soon it becomes a reality. Act, look, feel successful, conduct yourself accordingly, and you will be amazed at the positive results. Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no ones definition of your life, but define yourself. Change and growth take place when a person has risked himself, and dares to become involved in experimenting with his own life. You must have long-range goals to keep you from being frustrated by short-range failures. Imagine you only have one year to live. What important things would you be doing? How would you be allotting your time to accomplish the most you could? This exercise is one method of going after your priorities. Nothing of great value in life comes easily.
